Video extender is designed for high-quality video signal long-distance transmission requirements and professional design of video signal transmission and receiving signal transmission systems in security monitoring system engineering, in order to solve problems such as long-distance transmission of video signals, image reflection, and color distortion.
Introduction of video extender products
The audio video extender is mainly suitable for medium and short-distance video transmission in security monitoring systems. It consists of a transmitter and a receiver used together. The video transmission receiver uses twisted pair/network cable as the transmission medium to transmit audio and video signals in real-time.
Types of video extenders
If the current installed video extender transmits different signals, it can mainly be divided into HDMI VGA extender, and DVI extender, and HDMI extender. If the installation of the video signal transmission line/medium is different, it can be simply divided into (single) network cable extender, twisted pair extender, fiber optic extender, etc. The audio and video signal transmission cables of the video extender are mainly composed of single wires, twisted pairs, coaxial cables, and fiber optics.
Single wire
Single wire is the basic type of cable (such as a wire). It is composed of one or a group of metal wires covered by plastic insulation. This type of cable is usually used to transmit low frequency signals, such as power supply, audio, and computer identification codes.
Twisted pair
Twisted pair is a general term. There is no limit on the number of wires and twisting types, but there are only two cable structures: shielded twisted pair (STP) and unshielded twisted pair (UTP).
Coaxial cable
Coaxial cable is a composite material of two conductors. The center conductor of the coaxial cable is used to transmit signals, and the metal shield network plays two roles: one is the common grounding line of the signal, providing a current return path for the signal, and the other is the shielding network of the signal. The electromagnetic noise is prevented from interfering with the signal. The middle conductor and the shield network are located between the semi-foamed polypropylene insulation, which determines the transmission characteristics of the cable and effectively protects the middle conductor.
Coaxial cable is widely used in audio, video or RF transmission, and the transmission impedance is generally 75 ohms, which has become the standard impedance for video (50 ohms was also used for video transmission in the early days). High-quality standard coaxial cables are usually more expensive than twisted pair cables because coaxial cables have reliable physical properties and can provide excellent audio and video performance. In audio and video systems, cable frequency, signal resolution, and effective transmission distance play a decisive role.
Fiber optics
HDMI optical fiber extender is the choice for long-distance signal transmission. It is a technology based on optoelectronic conversion rather than electronic transmission. The simple principle of fiber optic transmission is that the analog telecommunications signal is transmitted to the optical transmitter. The voltage signal input is converted into a current signal through the signal buffer circuit and the driving circuit, and drives the light-emitting tube or laser.
